In this little tribal park by the rock is a statue and memorial to the code talkers of World War II. The Japanese were never able to break their code.

I enjoy the area just realizing that I am in Navaho territory. I realize that many of them still speak Navajo most of the time if not all the time. Their architecture impresses me with how it blends with the surrounding landscape.

We had lunch and proceeded north towards Canyon de Chelly. It is always nice to have a diversion from driving on I 40.
