We stopped on the west side of Amarillo to check out the Cadillacs. I have passed them many times but this seemed to be the time to walk out to them, mud or no mud! We needed a little comic relief as our thoughts were still with all those who lost their lives in Moore.

We did not bring along a can of paint as this was an unscheduled stop, but we did enjoy watching others leave their mark.

And yes, there was mud; lots of mud; the kind that sticks to your shoes as they get heavier with every step. But it was worth it!

We later hopped off I 40 and ventured over to the Mid Point Cafe for lunch in the 50's cafe along Route 66.

This was at the mid point along Route 66 between Chicago and Los Angeles before the days of interstate highways.

We arrived in Albuquerque and settled into our overnight spot at where else but Walmart.
